Pure Potions skin salvation review

Pure Potions  - The home of natural creams, oils and ointments

Pure potions is a skincare company that only make products using ingredients that are as close to their natural state as possible in order to reduce the risk of reaction that can be caused by highly processed substances. Their aim is to make safe, effective, simple products so that the ingredients used serve the purpose that they are intended for. With every ingredient being chosen for its effectiveness rather than for cosmetic reasons.

Pure potions aim to:
  • make their ingredient lists as clear as possible.
  • only use an ingredient if it is essential to the effectiveness of the product.
  • not use synthetic fragrances, petrochemicals or colours in any of our products
  • use organic ingredients wherever possible
  • use locally sourced ingredients
  • have products suited to everyone from adults, children and babies
  • make products that can be applied anywhere on the body; on face, scalp, hands and delicate areas of the body.

I was given three Pure Potions products from their dry skin range to try. For me this could not have come at a better time, as the past few weeks I have for some reason been suffering with an itchiness all over my body. I'm not sure if it's down to using a different showering cream or I have got some kind of eczema starting, I don't know what it is. When I head that Pure Potions products could be treated for these kind of symptoms I was willing to give it a go for myself. I received three products from the dry skin range, daily moisturizing cream (100ml), intensive hand cream (50ml) and the intensive lip balm, I have been using these products on a daily basis for over a week now.
The skin salvation daily moisturizing cream was something I applied everyday, especially on the worst parts where I was suffering from itching, I also applied it on my face before applying my makeup. I thought the cream was nice and thick, it applied smoothly enough that it didn't leave my skin feeling oily or slimy which I have noticed with some moisturizers in the past. It turned into like a matte effect on my face which I thought was great for being able to apply makeup onto. I have found it has controlled the itching quite a bit already, so I'm hoping by keeping up with this regime that it might be a cure altogether. The only downside I have of this product is the smell isn't very pleasant when applying, I found especially when applied to the face.
The skin salvation intensive hand cream, again something I applied daily but on a more regular basis. I am one for always having to apply hand cream as my hands get so rough and dry through out the day. For me this was more oil based than the daily moisturizing cream, sometimes I had to wipe the excess off (could be I put too much on). Apart from that I found it applied easy enough, again only downside was the smell of the product is a bit off putting when first applied.
The third product I used on a more regular basis was the skin salvation intensive lip balm, for me this was my favouirte as I found it actually plumped my lips up. It's given me soft smooth lips but at the same time more fuller lips. I think this is a great product to have.
For me I am always using hand cream and lip balm and I am a strong believer in moisturizing daily, these products do a good job of what I look for in skin care products. I am big fan of simple skin care products, as I find my skin reacts better to products with no chemicals or perfumes or any extra cosmetic ingredients included. So for me Pure Potions could not have suited me better, I love how they detail this so clearly on all of their products so you know exactly what is inside. Plus side the size of the bottle are handy enough for you to carry around in your bag for your everyday use.

Pure Potions is available to buy from their website and can even be found in Boots, Holland & Barret, Waitrose and major health food chains, chemists and independent shops across the UK.
