Go to places - Edinburgh

My goal this year is to travel more, I don't mean travel around the world to far away countries. I'm talking going through my home country of Scotland. Some of the places I want to go, I haven't even seen before, or I was too young to appreciate them at the time. So instead of going away to spend a week away in a caravan twice out the year in Ayr, I have decided I am going to go away for long weekend trips to different parts of Scotland and maybe further if the chance comes up. Today I thought I would share with you one of the places that is top of my list to go see this year...Edinburgh. Share with you whats attracting me there...

I have been wanting to go visit Edinburgh properly for a couple of years now, this year is definitely the year I'm going to do it. I don't even really get why I haven't sooner, it's not too far from where I live. It's easy enough to get a train over the bridge to Edinburgh for the day and back. I'm going to go and properly do it for a long weekend, maybe for my birthday in May and maybe again in December. I have always wanted to go when it has it's Christmas market on, I've seen so many photos of how beautiful it looks with all the lights and the whole Christmas spirit. I would love to experience that. There is already a few things or than the town of Edinburgh or the shopping that I want to do.

The Real Mary King's Close

I have been wanting to go see Mary's close for years now. I am so excited about going to see this, but also so scared at the same time. I am not a fan at all of anything horror related, so the thought of going down an old abandoned town under the city kinda scares me just a little. Let alone that it's known to be full of wandering ghosts and horrible tales to be told.

I never used to want to visit the Edinburgh dungeons, cos like I said I hate anything scary related. But since I visited the London dungeons a few years ago, I have fancied going to the one's in Edinburgh to see what they are like. Going by the website I think they sound so much fun.

I have been to Edinburgh Zoo once before a few years ago. We got there later in the day not really expecting it to be as big as it was. We didn't manage to make it round the whole zoo before closing, and in typical Scottish style the day was ruined by pouring rain. So I've always wanted to go back and see more of what I didn't get the chance to. I would definitely go back just for the panda's alone. The last time I went, it was not long after the panda's had been brought to Scotland. I thought they were amazing, so I would love to see them again.

Edinburgh Castle

I'm not really into history that much or history when it comes to the royals anyway, so Edinburgh castle isn't normally my kinda thing. But I remember going once before when I was really young on a school trip, that I can't even remember anything that it looked like. So I would like to go back now as an adult and experience it over again.

Edinburgh itself is just a place where I would love to go on my own, with my camera and just take really good pictures of all the old streets, the people, everything. So much to see and do, I can't wait. xo
